Our client, an innovative company in the medical device sector, is looking to strengthen its team with the recruitment of a:

Senior C/C++ Embedded Software Engineer

The role will be to design and implement the architecture of the Embedded software solutions in the medical device, while following all regulatory guideleines in place.

Your responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and maintain embedded software of the device portfolio, in close collaboration with the Software Verification & Validation and Hardware development teams
  • Author software requirements, architecture, and design specification documents
  • Maintain current embedded software in C
  • Lead the software architecture development of the new embedded software platform using C/C++
  • Participate to software risk management activities
  • Use tools and methodologies to create representations for functions and interface
  • Lead or participate to software design reviews, code reviews and risk analysis
  • Troubleshoot anomalies by performing root cause analysis
  • Use a proactive approach to address common challenges
  • Provide technical guidance and coaching to developers
  • Update our software internal coding standard for C++
  • Ensure compliance of software and documentation with our quality processes and medical device standards (e.g., IEC 62304, ISO 13485)

Your Profile:

  • 7-10 years of relevant experience in embedded software development in a regulated industry (i.e., avionics/aerospace, automotive, medical devices, rail, nuclear, defence)
  • A university degree in a discipline relevant to embedded software such as Computer Science, Electronics and Electrical Engineering
  • Expert in embedded C/C++ programming on multicore microcontrollers/processors
  • Experienced with real-time operating systems (Ideally QNX and TI-RTOS)
  • Experienced with real-time applications as well as with low-level embedded software architecture & design, including digital signal processing, driver implementation, field bus communication systems (i.e., CAN, Ethernet, SPI, I2C, …)
  • Experienced in modelling embedded software architecture using UML/SysML or similar
  • Experienced with static test analysis and unit testing methods
  • Nice to have, experience with the CANopen communication protocol
  • Team-oriented, problem solving and able to track and document his work
  • English in spoken and written form is a must. French and German nice to have
